How much will I save?

The experts recommend having at least 270mm (ten inches) of loft insulation, and The Energy Saving Trust estimates that in a gas-heated home, if you install 270mm in an uninsulated loft you could save up to £590 a year (detached house), £355 a year (semi detached house), £330 (mid-terraced house) and £590 (detached bungalow). It’s worth checking how much insulation is currently in your loft, as topping up over existing insulation with 150mm could save you around £30 - £55 a year as well as making your home warmer.

Is Energy Saver DIY Insulation environmentally friendy?

The glass wool (fibreglass) component is made from up to 80% recycled content, whilst the rest of the batch is naturally occurring and abundant minerals. The fibreglass can also be recycled at the end of it’s life.

The polythene also contains a high recycled content, and is itself recyclable.

Is Energy Saver DIY Insulation fire safe?

The glass mineral wool (fibreglass) component is certified as non-combustible and with an A1 reaction to fire rating, the best attainable

The polythene is FR grade, meaning that it is made from a batch with a fire retardant additive
